What's inside

Named on the label, not invented for the ad.

Every Mantra formula is built the same way: a short list of botanicals we're proud to name, balanced to the pH range your hair actually wants. No mystery blends, no vague "proprietary complexes" — if a plant is on the front of the bottle, it's in the formula.

The number that runs the show: pH

Most Mantra formulas sit between pH 4.5 and 5.5, the mildly acidic range where the hair's cuticle lies flat. That's why most Mantra bottles print their pH range right on the front. "pH-balanced" is a phrase anyone can print; a number is a promise you can check.

The botanicals you'll meet

  • Aloe — lightweight moisture that doesn't sit heavy on the strand. The heart of Tranquility.
  • Sunflower seed oil — softness and shine for thirsty hair, without the grease.
  • Rosemary & chamomile — the balancing pair behind Transcend's smooth, settled finish.
  • Bamboo — structure and strength through the lengths.
  • Lotus — the calm one: smoothing and softening where hair gets unruly.
  • Essential fatty acids (EFAs) — the cuticle-sealing lipids in our EFA Color Lock Oil that help lock color vibrancy in.

How to read a Mantra label

Front of the bottle: the intention (Serenity, Expand, Clarity…), the featured botanicals and, on most bottles, the pH range. Back of the bottle: the full ingredient list, in order. You'll also find the complete list on every product page here — open any product and check for yourself.
